At 212smiling, great grins are our business so a big happy smile is always a matter of extreme importance to us. This week, Science says it should be to you as well.
From the Washington Post:
[Researchers] at Wayne State University examined 230 photographs of 230 professional baseball players…then used a database of information about the players to examine the relationship between smile intensity and longevity…Players with a broad smile lived an average of five years longer than players who didn’t smile.
The study went on to say that even players with partial-smiles lived longer than the players who weren’t smiling at all. The thinking behind the study is people who smile more were less stressed, happier in general, which contributes to a longer life.

So what does that mean for you? Well, for starters you have to love your smile to want to use it and for that, you have to have (or get) great teeth. At our office in NYC, we offer services like Invisalign and Dental Implants that can help you love your smile. Invisalign are invisible braces that will straighten out any crooked teeth or bite problems, and the best part of Invisalign braces is how discrete they are while you are wearing them. No more middle school “metal-mouth” taunting — with Invisalign invisible braces you will still feel comfortable talking and smiling during your treatment. Dental Implants are a great tooth replacements that will fill in your row of pearly whites if you have any missing. Unlike dentures, dental implants are a permanent and comfortable way to feel good about your smile. Other great smile enhancers include teeth bleaching and regular cleanings.
If you want to live a longer, happier life, Science says the key is smiling (we already knew that.) And in order to smile, you need to feel good about your teeth. Services like Invisalign, dental implants, or cosmetic dentistry can all help you get the smile you want, and you’ll want to use it. Ask your dentist how you can enhance your smile today.
And remember, if you’re looking for a cosmetic dentist in New York, take a look at all of the services we offer in this area.
